Cherries and Apricots all over the place!
Hew! It's been a little wild out here. Sorry I didn't get the last two month's emails out but I think you're going to like this one. You get to see all the crazy stuff we've been up to.
In May, I was pulled out of my office to help with drying cherries. It was going to be for only 6 weeks but it seemed things would never end! It started out as a great season for cherries. We had one of the driest spring seasons ever, which is great for growing cherries. The cherries were huge and perfect. The only bad thing was probably the windy spell we had. It was almost as if a hurricane blew through here.
The apricot season has been good too. Because apricots are so much larger than cherries, it's easier process get the pits out and we can do more in a shorter amount of time. That is one reason they don't need me out there today and I can now sit in my air-conditioned office and get this newsletter to you.
When I could, I would grab my camera and take some pictures for you to see what's going on out here. Check out all the pictures from this year's cherry and apricot season.
