Bella Viva Berries:
Bella Viva Berries: While attending the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market in San Francisco, we met brothers, Apolinar and Gilberto, who farm organic strawberries in Watsonville near Monterey, California. With the help of their sister and three other men, Apolinar and Gilberto have farmed the sandy coastal California soil of Watsonville since 1982, growing some of the largest, sweetest organic strawberries found in California. Always imagining different fruits to dry, we transformed their perishable fresh strawberries into long-lasting, sweet-yet-tangy delights. Utilizing our innovative drying method, it takes about 12 pounds of fresh strawberries to make one pound dried, making them a little pricey.

breast
, and
colon
. Part of strawberrys cancer-fighting properties lie in their
antioxidant-bursting pigment
. The
National Cancer Institute
explains how antioxidants may battle cancer-causing free radicals and cleanse the blood of toxins. Their studies suggest strawberries
ellagic acid
can significantly reduce liver cancer cells and possibly make cancer causing molecules inactive.
Health Benefits
According to the
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition
, strawberries may play a major role
in lowering blood pressure
. High in fiber, Folate, antioxidants, and without fats, strawberries are great for your heart and can help lower cholesterol. Strawberries also contain vitamin-B, a cardiac muscle strengthener and heart functionality helper. The USDA found that strawberries aid in slowing the decline of age-related loss of cognitive and motor skills.
Fun Facts

The average strawberry has 200 seeds.
There are over 600 varieties of strawberries, cultivated and wild. Cultivated strawberries are hybrids and sold in stores. Wild strawberries are smaller and are more intense in flavor.
The strawberry is a
member of the rose family
and is the only fruit with seeds on the outside. The acid in strawberries dissolves dental tartar and improves gum health.
