From late February through mid April, more than 430 species of stone fruit trees embellish the valley from Redding to Bakersfield. Use these pictures to name some of the fruits growing in your area.

You probably noticed not all fresh fruits are available through the summer. The same is true for blossoms--not all blossoms are in bloom through the spring. Peak bloom varies from year to year making it difficult to predict the best time to take a spring drive. Also, keep in mind Southern California Blossoms bloom two to three weeks ahead of Northern California Blossoms because of the difference in climate.

The Bella Viva Orchards are smack in the center of the San Joaquin Valley (90 miles east of San Francisco). If you plan your Blossom Gazing Joyride near us, stop in the Bella Viva Store and stock up on the nutritious bounty these blossoms will soon create. Those who can’t make the drive can always find our delicious treats online right here.

Enjoy!
