Health Benefits

According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, strawberries may play a major role in lowering blood pressure. High in fiber, Folate, antioxidants, and without fats, strawberries are great for your heart and can help lower cholesterol. Strawberries also contain vitamin-B, a cardiac muscle strengthener and heart functionality helper. The USDA found that strawberries aid in slowing the decline of age-related loss of cognitive and motor skills.

Fun Facts
There are 23,000 acres of strawberries planted in California each year, yielding 1 billion pounds of strawberries!
The average strawberry has 200 seeds.
There are over 600 varieties of strawberries, cultivated and wild. Cultivated strawberries are hybrids and sold in stores. Wild strawberries are smaller and are more intense in flavor.
The strawberry is a member of the rose family and is the only fruit with seeds on the outside. The acid in strawberries dissolves dental tartar and improves gum health.

Cancer Fighting
An Ohio State University study found that strawberry consumption slowed the growth of precancerous esophageal lesions. Other studies have shown that strawberries can increase anti-cancer activity in the liver, breast, and colon. Part of strawberrys cancer-fighting properties lie in their antioxidant-bursting pigment. The National Cancer Institute explains how antioxidants may battle cancer-causing free radicals and cleanse the blood of toxins. Their studies suggest strawberries ellagic acid can significantly reduce liver cancer cells and possibly make cancer causing molecules inactive.

Just ok and pricey
The strawberries were just ok and not very sweet. Very expensive...equates to $52 for a pound. Was disappointed and will not buy again.

Better than freeze-dried by far
Waited and waited for these to come back into stock. FINALLY I was able to order them. Compared to freeze-dried they win hands down. More strawberry flavor and they won't dissolve into mush when re-hydrated. You have to think in terms of how much you'd pay by the pound for these if fresh. They come out to $4 lb. if you were to re-hydrate them back to 12 lbs. per 1 lb. dried, based on regular price, less if you snag a coupon or other discount. That is the equivalent of purchasing one of the grocery store clam shell cartons for $4. And these are organic! You just have to contain yourself and don't go wild eating them from the bag.

Will Buy Again
These organic dried strawberries are not dry & crumbly like the freeze dried ones that melt to nothing in your mouth. My husband chose these strawberries to take with him on the road, from out of all the organic dried fruit we just got. We also received white nectarines, white peaches, yellow peaches, persimmons, apricots & Thompson raisins. (all organic & all very good)

These are heaven
I love these strawberries! I let them sit in warm water for a few minutes and then serve them. They are really delicious and as I come back to order more, am so disappointed they're out of stock. Will surely buy more when they're back.

Just delicious. Sweet and tangy. I let them sit in milk for a bit to absorb some liquid and get soft - it also sweetens the milk. Or, I let soften in a bit of water and add to cottage cheese. Tastes really great. Also delicious eaten alone.

Ms.
These are pure strawberry goodness. Every time I bit into a fruit roll-up and wished it was more like real fruit, these are what I was wishing for. Like all Bella Viva dried fruit, it's perfectly dry, meaning a better value per pound and better storage. Yet the fruit was picked ripe enough that the natural sugar keeps them flexible and slightly chewy, except for the end slices, which are delightfully crispy. The flavor is intense enough that I can't eat too much at a time, which is awesome. I store these in one-cup mason jars under vacuum seal until ready to use and they stay great. Looking forward to cooking with these as soon as I can stop snacking the whole thing!
