You, our friends, are the first to learn that we are releasing the first harvest of Regenerative Organic Certified Almonds, grown by a nearby partner whose farming practices very closely align with ours. Like us, they grow these precious nuts without any chemical pesticides, they incorporate careful and thoughtful practices in farming that adhere to the strict and rightful requirements to earn the “ROC” designation. This includes mulching tree trimmings back into the soil in the same orchard where they’re clipped, avoiding the fuel it would take to transport them elsewhere or the residues that would be released into the atmosphere by burning. Mulching on the premises helps retain precious moisture that’s always on the minds of farmers in California’s Central Valley. It feeds nutrients such as nitrogen into the soil, making it a more fertile and healing place for those trees to thrive. Growing Almonds according to ROC guidelines also means that the surrounding community enjoys better air to breathe.
